![]() ![]() It’s a little disappointing that the indie studio led by the prolific Suda51 doesn’t seem involved as this game didn’t exactly make the strongest first impression. While Let it Die was developed by Grasshopper and published by GungHo, Grasshopper is not involved in Deathverse and it’s actually made by GungHo. The announcement of Deathverse: Let it Die, an online survival action game set within the world of Grasshopper’s 2016 action RPG Let it Die, kicked things off on a bit of an odd note. It’s certainly one of the most underwhelming State of Plays we’ve gotten but there were still some announcements that were interesting and worth talking about. Maybe this State of Play was just a victim of hype and other big-name titles being mostly absent this year, but it really gave off the vibes of “this could’ve been in an email” or rather a PlayStation Blog post. While there was a Little Devil Inside deep dive that showed some more of the art style and gameplay, the rest of the announcements were underwhelmingly small and there were very few exciting announcements. We got a few hints in knowing that some Square Enix stuff would be there as well as in-depth look at Little Devil Inside, but it was still a mystery if we were in store for something unexpected and we got very little of that. While the 20-minute stream would only be showcasing updates for upcoming third-party games, a few indie titles, and some surprises, there was plenty of speculation as to what would show up. Most people, including myself, thought that there wouldn’t be any more major updates from PlayStation till next year, but then they announced a State of Play for October. Some first looks at God of War: Ragnarök and Spider-Man 2 as well as the reveal of Gran Turismo 7’s March 4 th release date and Insomniac’s next Marvel project being Wolverine were matched by the announcement of a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake and a glimpse into a PS5 exclusive from Square Enix, Forspoken, to create top-tier hype. The game was backed by 5126 pledges.Just last month, PlayStation delivered an epic showcase that got fans raving about the future first-party line-up. The last Kickstarter message for Little Devil Inside dates back to June 13, 2020. Developers have been a lot more upfront about slipping release dates lately and a game going on for eight whole years would very much justify an update. ![]() It would, however, be nice to have some more communication on what's happening. I'm not going to venture as far as saying that Little Devil Inside is going to be a dud, as the gameplay we have seen looks interesting, still. ![]() Seeing the state that the latter released in, there's also something to say for games of this nature that are eventually forced out. 9, I have firsthand experience with developers not delivering. As someone who is still waiting for their Nintendo 3DS code for Mighty No. Considering how packed 2023 will be with similar games, Little Devil Inside will have to strategize its eventual release, if it's coming.īeing stuck in development limbo doesn't necessarily spell doom, but this wouldn't be the first time that a Kickstarter project vanishes into thin air. There are a few shots out there of its supernatural nature, with minimal aesthetics, as well as survival gameplay and roguelike elements. Now entering its 8th year of development, we still don't know enough about this gloomy action adventure's practical execution. We contacted developer Neostream for details at the end of last year, but haven't heard back from them, at the time of writing. It's safe to say that there won't be a Wii U version anymore. There is still a Nintendo Wii U logo on their page that's how far back we're going. For reference, Little Devil Inside originally launched as a Kickstarter protect, where it grossed just over $300,000 in funds. Previous dates include July 2021 and even further back in 2018. This is, however, not the first time that the game was a no-show. The last we heard of Little Devil Inside, its latest release date was shown on an Instagram post, of all things, where it stated a "Winter 2022" launch. Each time, the game remained vague about when it would materialize and it looks like this trend will continue, as the project has now slipped into 2023. You may remember the game being showcased on multiple occasions at game conferences. The mysterious Little Devil Inside might be in hot waters. ![]()
